Steelcase Receives Five Best of NeoCon Awards At NeoCon 2010
Steelcase Inc. (NYSE:SCS), a global office environments manufacturer, today announced that the Steelcase family of companies won five Best of NeoCon Awards, including a Gold, two Silver and two Innovation Awards. Products recognized with a Best of NeoCon award include selections from Workplace Technologies, Furniture Systems, Education Solutions, Files & Storage and Occasional Table categories, all of which are on display at NeoCon 2010, the World’s Trade Fair for Interior Design and Facilities Management.

Steelcase Lands Multiple Green Certifications

Steelcase is leading the pack with Cradle to Cradle Certifications from sustainable consultancy McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC). With three new silver certifications, the office furniture manufacture has more than a dozen products with the label—the most with the certification in the industry.

Through criteria applying to the human and ecological health impacts of a material's ingredients, MBDC Certification recognizes an environmentally-friendly product life cycle, focusing on the ability to recycle or safely compost materials involved. Companies must also demonstrate social fairness and ethical corporate practices.
